London Fashion Week

...And after New York, Fashion Week comes to London. For me London is always an exciting fashion week with most of my favourite designers, plus it's the home turf!

Boy, did they live up my expectations! The designers certainly did not fail to please and the FROW were out in force.

Fashionistas aside, I must admit Andy Murray turning up to the Burberry Porsum show was a highlight for me and my friends!

Yes guys, that is Mr. Murray on the same front row as fashion heavyweights (pah!) Alexa Chung, Sarah Jessica Parker and Poppy Delevigne.

Now for the fashion! My favourite two collections from Spring/Summer 2012 in London were by Holly Fulton and Christopher Kane.

I adore the graphic prints that emerge in each of Holly Fulton's lines. Flashes of yellow transported us back to February's Autumn/Winter line, but this collection encapsulate a sunny, Sixties beach holiday... bikinis, sunglasses and sunshine prints included.

Christopher Kane's show was a departure from the neon-fest we've come to expect from him, instead favouring a more muted colour palette with shimmering brocade fabrics. This collection is a triumph for Kane, we're seeing him turn to more detailed cuts and modern looks, yet with the impressive confidence that a white shirt is a classic wardrobe stable.

New York Fashion Week

Unless you have been living under a rock you will have noticed that for the last week it has been New York Fashion Week.

A whole host of designers debuted their spring/summer 2012 collections, giving us a preview of what we will be sporting come the spring.

I have had a look through the collections, wishing I was in New York to enjoy the shows in person, and chosen my favourite. It was pretty tough, Victoria Beckham has finally stepped away from the one safe shape that she has been falling back on and her show was a triumph and Marc Jacobs closed fashion week with a futuristic look at a 1920s speakeasy. However, for me the most perfect collection was shown by the Mulleavy sisters at Rodarte.

Over the last couple of years the sisters have become two of the most looked to women in fashion, with the stories behind their collection enjoyed almost as much as the clothes themselves. The sisters have stuck with a  natural theme, but this time drawn their inspiration from Van Gogh's Sunflowers.

Kate Moss' Wedding Photos - As Seen in American Vogue

As we could have predicted Kate Moss' wedding photos, in the September Issue of American Vogue, are far more high fashion than to-the-highest-bidder.

Mario Testino's photos speak for themselves, it was a perfect few days. I have included more or less the whole collection, just leaving out the photos of guests... they're not as fun!

A Disney Take on Vogue

I love it when someone takes the concept of Vogue and gives it their own spin and this idea takes Disney Couture to another level! Artist Dante has taken the infamous Vogue cover format and illustrated them with our favourite Disney Princesses as cover girls.

I have narrowed down my favourite three from the collection of eight. I tried to do it based on the illustrations but there is no doubt that my decision has been influenced by the films!

I adore the Belle and Jasmine covers, but the winner for me has to be the Snow White cover. Snow White is the Princess that has remained the most true to her character on the cover, but is owning it as if she has been through every cycle of America's Next Top Model!

A Very Fashionable Summer for Weddings

I have made no secret of the fact that the Royal Wedding was a highlight of my year, if not decade. It brought together all that is brilliantly British, both though the fashion and the ceremony. However today I have been able to enjoy a very different British Royal Wedding, the marriage of Prince William's cousin Zara Phillips and England rugby star Mike Tindall. The ceremony could not have been any different to the April celebration but I still got a kick flicking though the photos!

The Royal Brides are just two of a host of very fashionable brides to walk down the aisle so far this summer. My third favourite Kate and her friend Lily have both tied the knot, as well as one of the only WAGs I am able to tolerate, Abbey Clancy.

Below are a few pics for us all to enjoy, because, let's face it, who doesn't love a look through a wedding album!

I have already had a whole post dedicated to the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton (or perhaps more importantly that dress). However, a post about weddings would be incomplete without a picture of the royal couple, and a mention of the stunning Alexander McQueen dress that Kate wore on the big day.

Today Edinburgh hosted the second Royal Wedding of 2011. Thirteenth in line for the throne Zara Phillips married England rugby captain Mike Tindall in a far more relaxed ceremony than that of her cousins, one that brought sportsmen and royals together under the same roof! The bride wore a Stewart Parvin dress and was joined by a host of well dressed members of the royal family.

Kate Moss married Jamie Hince, in a ceremony fit for a supermodel Moss married her rock star boyfriend in a ceremony that resembled a three day festival. The model wore a stunning Galliano wedding dress and was joined by no less than 15 bridesmaids at her Cotswolds wedding.

Lily Allen had two reasons to celebrate at her June wedding, not only did she marry her boyfriend Sam Cooper, but she announced she was pregnant on the same day. The singer married in her local church in Cranham, Gloucestershire and wore an opinion splitting vintage style Delphine Manivet dress.
