London Fashion Week

...And after New York, Fashion Week comes to London. For me London is always an exciting fashion week with most of my favourite designers, plus it's the home turf!

Boy, did they live up my expectations! The designers certainly did not fail to please and the FROW were out in force.

Fashionistas aside, I must admit Andy Murray turning up to the Burberry Porsum show was a highlight for me and my friends!

Yes guys, that is Mr. Murray on the same front row as fashion heavyweights (pah!) Alexa Chung, Sarah Jessica Parker and Poppy Delevigne.

Now for the fashion! My favourite two collections from Spring/Summer 2012 in London were by Holly Fulton and Christopher Kane.

I adore the graphic prints that emerge in each of Holly Fulton's lines. Flashes of yellow transported us back to February's Autumn/Winter line, but this collection encapsulate a sunny, Sixties beach holiday... bikinis, sunglasses and sunshine prints included.

Christopher Kane's show was a departure from the neon-fest we've come to expect from him, instead favouring a more muted colour palette with shimmering brocade fabrics. This collection is a triumph for Kane, we're seeing him turn to more detailed cuts and modern looks, yet with the impressive confidence that a white shirt is a classic wardrobe stable.

Who Dressed Well This Week? Clemence Poesy

Clemence Poesy, is everything you do effortless and devastatingly chic? Or do you limit it to the way you dress?

Here she is looking mighty Parisian at the Erdem show at London Fashion Week... in Erdem. Tres bien!

Weekly Wishes

If there is a present fairy out there that has been keeping a low profile because they didn't know what to get me, it's fine! You can come out of hiding now, I've done all of the hard work! All I want is this...

Put simply it is magnificent... and it is on sale. Oh River Island, how you please me!

New York Fashion Week

Unless you have been living under a rock you will have noticed that for the last week it has been New York Fashion Week.

A whole host of designers debuted their spring/summer 2012 collections, giving us a preview of what we will be sporting come the spring.

I have had a look through the collections, wishing I was in New York to enjoy the shows in person, and chosen my favourite. It was pretty tough, Victoria Beckham has finally stepped away from the one safe shape that she has been falling back on and her show was a triumph and Marc Jacobs closed fashion week with a futuristic look at a 1920s speakeasy. However, for me the most perfect collection was shown by the Mulleavy sisters at Rodarte.

Over the last couple of years the sisters have become two of the most looked to women in fashion, with the stories behind their collection enjoyed almost as much as the clothes themselves. The sisters have stuck with a  natural theme, but this time drawn their inspiration from Van Gogh's Sunflowers.

Here is my pick of their spring/summer looks. Enjoy!

Who Dressed Well This Week? Chloe Moretz

This week the stars have been pulling out all the stops to look their best on the front row at New York Fashion Week, so for Who Dressed Well I had my pick of more or less every celebrity in attendance!

However there was one actress who managed to stand out backstage at the Calvin Klein show, Chloe Moretz.

The fourteen year old actress (yes you read that correctly, fourteen! When I was fourteen I am pretty sure I thought shopping in Etam not Tammy Girl was an adventure, this lass is front row at New York Fashion Week) wowed in head to toe Calvin Klein.

Major credit needs to be given to the starlet, this was her first trip to Fashion Week and she turned up looking this prim and proper! I also think she should be credited with dressing quite age appropriately, although very few fourteen year olds get the chance to wear Calvin Klein, she is not in sky high heels with a hemline to match. Well done Chloe!

Did you think anyone out-dressed Chloe this week?

Brad and Angelina are Jealous of You

Fashion Week Season has well and truly kicked off in New York.

With fashion week comes runway directions, the best so far? Without a doubt these instructuions at Michael Kors' safari themed show.

Nice to see a sense of humour on the runway!

Weekly Wishes

Weekly wishes time. What do I fancy this week?

Chat about the M&S Limited Collection is everywhere and after a quick look I was left wanting the majority of the stuff, most unexpected!

Without a doubt my favourite piece is this knitted mohair, bird print top. Even though it comes under the slightly cringe-worthy umbrella of 'quirky cool' (a possible reminder of a generational gap!), it will be a perfect throw on come the (slightly) colder months. Plus, at £29.50 a pop you can't really go wrong and let's face it, we can all rely on Marks and Sparks!

Now I just need to work on finding it out here in Dubai...

Kate Moss' Wedding Photos - As Seen in American Vogue

As we could have predicted Kate Moss' wedding photos, in the September Issue of American Vogue, are far more high fashion than to-the-highest-bidder.

Mario Testino's photos speak for themselves, it was a perfect few days. I have included more or less the whole collection, just leaving out the photos of guests... they're not as fun!

The September Issue

So here it is, The September Issue. The big one!

As the fashion world gets ready for the frenzy of fashion weeks ahead, this issue is a guaranteed way to get you ready for a new season's fashion.

What better way for us to prepare than with Freja Beha Erichsen and Arizona Muse (what a name!) shot on the cobbles of Antwerp by Mario Testino, in their 'Master Class' editorial. The unusually dark shoot is almost completely monochrome and has a very clerical feel.

Vogue and Testino have excelled themselves, a melancholic and gloomy shoot that still forces the garments to scream out as covetable is no mean feat. Just look at that Givenchy set.

However, this issue wasn't only made up of Freja Beha Erichsen and doom & gloom, although the vast majority of the clothes featured were monochrome. There is confirmation for me that the cape is sticking around for another season, (I knew it was wise, not frivolous, to invest in two last winter!) and a piece encouraging us to turn our back on the wild and look to the exotic, with skins as the pattern of the winter. That is news that the Kardashians probably won't take well...

However, the main talking point of the issue was a piece by Charlotte Sinclair, one that looks at 'The Turbulent Life of John Galliano'. The ups and downs of Galliano's year aren't something I need to go into right now, they have been much discussed by everyone (but for the record, it disgusted me). I think it was bold for Vogue to do a feature on him at the moment, however after Kate Moss had him design her wedding dress and now that Natalie Portman is modelling for Dior again, perhaps there is no better time for Vogue to look for the man behind the rumours.

The feature doesn't dispute or dispel any of the stories about Galliano, but looks at his story, starting with his family life and speaks to the people closest to him, to build him into a person not a media creation. However, more importantly, the piece focuses on the amazing creations he designed at Dior, focusing in on his magnificent dresses that were truly made for living fairy tales.
